Our Campaign’s Top Priorities

I’ve listened to neighbors across Hermosa, and these are the issues that City Council must prioritize.

  • Public safety

  • Protect housing

  • Small businesses

  • Fiscal responsibility

Public safety

Hermosa is a place where people feel safe to live, work, and play. Safety starts with a fully staffed and equipped police department. My wildfire work has taught me that safety requires prevention: safer bike lanes, reckless e-bikers off the strand, and simple fixes like blind-spot mirrors, better lighting, and clearer crosswalks.

Protect housing

Hermosa’s future will depend on how we navigate state mandates while preserving the mix of housing that makes us special. I’ll chart a responsible course—comply with state law, avoid high-rises, regulate Airbnbs, and work to keep our kids, seniors, and renters here.

Small businesses

Council can support small businesses and reduce vacancies by making it easier to open, operate, and host events by cutting unnecessary red tape, a focus of my government work. Let’s hold annual economic development town halls, and make the most of the 2028 olympics.

Fiscal responsibility

$55 million deserves more than 55 minutes of discussion. Overseeing $1 billion in FDA spending taught me every program must justify its budget. Hermosa needs clear goals and real budget hearings to cut waste and creatively generate new revenue to fix potholes and save the pier.
